Christmas Coal

The Nevada Northern Railway runs coal burning steam locomotives. Years ago, on a cold December night, just before Christmas, we ran out of coal! There was no coal available from our normal suppliers! We needed coal, for without any coal, our steam locomotives wouldn’t run! What to do, what to do!

Where could we find coal? The situation was critical, a real head-scratcher, until one of the engineers of Santa’s Reindeer Flyer, snapped his fingers and exclaimed, “I know where we can get coal!” “Where?” “Why the North Pole of course! Santa has lots of coal for the naughty boys and girls.”

On the very next Santa’s Reindeer Flyer, the Conductor asked Santa after Santa had finished his rounds, “Santa, could you spare some coal for the Nevada Northern Railway steam locomotives?” 

With a jolly laugh, Santa pronounced, “Not to worry. Santa’s coal is no ordinary coal. Its Christmas Coal and full of magic! It turns bad boys and girls to good boys and girls!”
